• A Complete Investment Solution for Charities and Foundations

  • Past performance should not be seen as an indication of future performance. The value of investments and any income derived from them can go down as well as up as a result of market or currency movements and investors may not get back the original amount invested.

Our philosophy for responsible investing is based on three pillars – Invest, Avoid and Improve.

Our Responsible Funds offer customers a way to invest in shares and bonds of companies that adhere to certain values and standards, and are managed to provide capital growth and income. We do this by applying ethical and ESG principles to the selection of investments, having a robust approach to portfolio construction and management, and using our influence as shareholders to encourage more ethically, socially responsible and environmentally sustainable behaviour by companies.

How do our ethical funds work?

Each of our Responsible Funds is underpinned by a comprehensive process that employs the expertise and experience of three separate teams:

Investment management - our Responsible Funds are managed just like any of our mainstream portfolios with the exception that each company is screened against a set of ethical ESG criteria before we can invest in it. Our fund managers research individual companies and investment themes and are responsible for actively managing the portfolios in order to generate outperformance compared to a standard unscreened benchmark.

Governance & Sustainable Investment Team - we have one of the largest dedicated research teams of its kind in Europe, with extensive experience across a range of ESG issues and sectors. Responsibilities include: researching emerging ESG issues to help inform policy development, reviewing companies against the ethical criteria, voting at company meetings and engaging with companies, regulators and other stakeholders to improve corporate governance and corporate sustainability performance.

Responsible Investment Advisory Council - a six-strong independent Responsible Investment Advisory Council oversees the screening criteria within which the Funds are managed. The Council is made up of experts in a range of ethical and sustainability matters.
