Our BMO Universal MAP funds were launched with the ambition of bringing something different to the marketplace – a suite offering advisers a new and practical option for their advice toolkit.  With the range now topping over £0.5 billion in assets they’ve certainly been gaining popularity.

In a cost-constrained world value is key – the funds have an OCF capped at 0.29%.  There is nothing extraordinary in that until you consider they’re actively managed at every stage – from their strategic and tactical asset allocation through to underlying stock selection across equity and fixed income exposures.  Our BMO Universal MAP Range has brought active multi-asset investing to advisers and their clients at a passive price point.

Rob Thorpe, Head of UK and European Sales, talks about the thinking the behind the funds, the value they offer and the role they can offer in the advice process.

From an investment perspective, the first 3-years for the funds have certainly been eventful.  Our Multi-Asset team have worked to navigate the portfolios through ongoing Brexit uncertainty and more recently, through a global pandemic that’s rocked markets and the global economy.  We’ve been really pleased with how they’ve fared both in absolute terms and relative to some of the other options available in the marketplace.

Paul Niven – Head of Portfolio Management, Multi-Asset Solutions – highlights some of the ways in which the portfolios have been actively managed since launch.
