Over 2018, the BMO Commercial Property Trust made excellent progress with their Responsible Property Investment (RPI) strategy, building on the solid foundations set in earlier years.

The importance of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues continues to strengthen within the UK commercial property market. Supported by BMO Real Estate as its property managers, the trust has made significant headway in developing their approach to such factors. In fact, the positive feedback from shareholders regarding this enhanced approach has been a notable feature of the trust’s engagement with shareholders this year.

The latest RPI report for the trust covers the 2018 financial period and includes:

  • A description of the RPI strategy and related priorities, as well as the process for determining these and the progress against them so far.

  • Key ESG performance data for the reporting year and our targets for future performance.

  • An overview of key ESG risks facing the property portfolio and our approach to managing these.
