Gillian is the chief operating officer of BMO Insurance and BMO Global Asset Management. She is an integral part of the leadership team, helping to drive the strategic direction of the business and supporting day-to-day operations. She became COO of BMO Insurance in 2018 and was appointed COO of Global Asset Management in 2020. Gillian began her career in the financial services industry in 2004 with BMO. She has held senior leadership roles in multiple areas of the business with a focus on strategy and operations, while using innovative technology solutions to enhance customer experience. She has extensive experience defining and executing strategy and leading multi-faceted projects and regulatory programs. She holds an M.B.A. from the Ivy Business School at Western University in Ontario, and a B.B.A. from Wilifrid Laurier University, Waterloo. In addition, she is a Certified Management Accountant through the Society of Professional Accountants of Canada.
